Our Manager Arrested (S702aa: 1913)

Editor Charles H. Smith's Note: A feature compiling the opinions of a large number of people, including Wallace, on a freedom of the press issue. Printed on page 2 of the 15 May 1913 issue of The Labour Leader. To link directly to this page, connect with: http://people.wku.edu/charles.smith/wallace/S702AA.htm

Dr. A. Russel Wallace.

The question of The Suffragette is one as to which I cannot express an opinion. From an article in The New Statesman it seems that the Government is acting illegally in stopping it. I have always thought the rendering the printer, as well as the writer and editor, responsible for libel, is most unfair and unnecessary and should be discontinued.
