I am surprised at your taking the absurd statement in the 'Table Talk' column of the Daily
News about me being knighted--as genuine! As if I would accept such a gawd! and so try to put
myself before Charles Darwin: and as if the 'Table Talk' is the place in which 'Birthday
Honours' are announced. I would not trouble you to correct it but that I get letters from my
friends asking about it, and this will increase them.
