    Dr. E. B. Tylor has called my attention to his review, in the Academy of October 3, of Westermarck's History of Human Marriage, in which he objects to his name being given in my "Introductory Note" as one of the writers whose views are therein disputed. Unfortunately, I overlooked his protest at the time, and I now beg to express my regret at having unintentionally misrepresented him. I have requested the publishers to insert a slip correcting the error in all the copies they have on hand, and to omit Dr. Tylor's name in future issues.
