Game 3: Negative Reinforcement

Do the desired (correct) behavior and an undesirable stimulus is avoided or subtracted. Select the correct symbols and you will reduce the number of flashing images. Flashing images are assumed to be aversive. You need to click on the image you select as correct.

Relief comes to you if you select correctly. No change if you pick incorrectly.

1.red square white oval
2.black diamond blue circle
3.black oval blue diamond

4.white circle

red parallelogram
5.blue clover black triangle
6. red octagon white rectangle

How did you feel after this trial?

If turning off the flashing images truly functioned as a negative reinforcer for you, you would feel positively upon successful completion and your behavior of clicking would have increased in some way--perhaps you got more correct or clicked harder. Or maybe it rewarded thinking more carefully, so you would think longer.

Next game: Negative Punishment
