Text: Fromkin and Rodman–An Introduction to Language

Grading and Assignments: Since most of you are teachers, we will be doing a wide variety of exercises designed to reinforce classroom work.  Grades will be determined by your earned percentage of points out of the total at the end of the semester.  Points will be accumulated by reports, discussions, observations, and other assignments on the topics listed separately.  Readings of similar discussions will also be provided during the semester.  The number of points that you will receive will be based on the quality and quantity of work, potentially 50 points per assignment.  Total points for the class will be 500.

These assignments need to be kept in a notebook or folder.  I would prefer a steady stream instead of the assignments all at once.  The last date you may submit materials is the time of the regularly scheduled final, Tuesday, May 1 at 8:00 p.m.

Graduate Students must compile a file of note cards of items frequently asked on orals.  I will provide the list or you may get it in the graduate office.
