THRYONOMYIDAE
(Cane Rats)
The Thryonomyidae is a family of hystricomorph rodents represented today
by two
species
of the genus Thryonomys: gregorianus (East Africa: southern
Sudan
southward
to Zimbabwe),
and swinderianus (throughout the mapped areas above).
The latter
is present on the island
of Bioko, and the Bijagós Archipelago off Guinea-Bissau.
