TARSIPEDIDAE
(Honey Possums)
The sole living representative of the Tarsipedidae is the nectarivorous
Tarsipes
rostratus, a small marsupial
restricted in distribution to the Mediterranean climate
zones of
southwestern
Western
Australia. The family has most recently been
associated with the
Order Diprotodontia,
Suborder Phalangeriformes,
and Superfamily Petauroidea.
