MYSTACINIDAE (Short-tailed Bats)

The Mystacinidae is a family of microchiropteran bats consisting of two
living species: Mystacina robusta (only known from Big South Cape
Island, near Stewart Island, and possibly extinct), and Mystacina tuberculata
(known from scattered colonies on both main islands).
