Bathyergidae (blesmols/African mole rats)

The Bathyergidae, a division of the Order Hystricomorpha, is a family of
rodents restricted to
Africa.
There
are two subfamilies with living members: Bathyerginae (four genera and fifteen
species,
Central (and
peripherally West), East
and Southern Africa) and Heterocephalinae (one
species, Heterocephalus
glaber, West Africa).
