ABROCOMIDAE (Chinchilla Rats)

The Abrocomidae is a family of hystricomorph rodents consisting of two living genera:
Abrocoma (eight species, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Chile) and Cuscomys (two
species, southern Peru). As of this writing its phylogenetic relations are still not clear.
