Awards
September 2012 - Dr. S. Kay Gandy was awarded the Joseph P. Cangemi Award for Excellence in Leadership in Psychology/Education, which was established in 2001 to recognize College personnel who have made broad applied contributions to their professional fields. Potential candidates must be full-time faculty or staff assigned to the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. A successful candidate for this award will have evidence of a sustained record of successfully working with organizations, both within and outside the university; have displayed excellence in teaching; have generated creative, applied contributions; and have worked with diverse populations either within the United States or abroad. The Award recipient was recognized with a plaque and a monetary award of $1,000 at the 2012 College of Education and Behavioral Sciences (CEBS) fall convocation.
Dr. Gandy is currently teaching the semester at Harlaxton College in England.

October 1, 2009 - The President of the National Council for Social Studies, Joe Stoltman awards Dr. Kay Gandy with the Distinguished Educator award for outstanding teaching in geography education. Dr. Gandy serves as Co-coordinator for the Kentucky Geographic Alliance (KGA) and has worked with geography education since 1998 when she trained to become a Teacher Consultant in a National Geographic Society sponsored training. The KGA provides professional development for teachers and provides quality geographic resources. |
