To do:
Go to File > New and click RGB. (8.5” by 11”)
- Save as Clock.ai
- Go to View > Show Rulers. Use Inches.
- Click and drag guides from the left and top ruler, release the mouse in the center.
- Go to toolbox, select the Ellipse tool
- Press Option key, the pointer will change to round icon. Click once and a dialog box will appear. Type 3 in both the Width and Height.
- Bring your color palette, choose RGB mode from the option menu.
- Type R: 255, G: 190, B: 0
- Draw two shades. One is half circle, the other a full circle.
- Draw a new circle using the same process as before. Type 2.7 slightly smaller than the first.
- Use scissors and delete the top of the circle.
- Type R: 255, G: 140, B: 0
- Rotate tool with the Option key pressed; click the intersection point of the crossing guide. In the dialog box, type -45 for the angle.
- Make one more circle with 2.1 inch. R: 0, G: 160, B 200.
- Draw clock hands. Click and make a starting anchor point. With the shift key pressed, make a straight line.
- Move your pen tool toward 7 o’clock and click.
- Go to stroke palette, type 8 in the weight field and select the Round Cap button.
- Drawing Legs. Using pen tool, draw triangle with three anchor points.
- Position the Ellipse tool pointer on the bottom anchor point of the triangle, and draw a circle with Option key pressed. And Group them.
- R: 255, G: 140, B: 0. No stroke.
- Object > Arrange > Send to Back
- Double click the reflect tool. Choose Vertical and type 90 as the angle, Click Copy not OK.
- Draw an ellipse. R: 3, G: 74, B: 94.
- Draw 0.4” circle Width and Height.
- Window > Gradient, Radial gradient. Click the slider, and go to the Color palette. Pick a color.
- With the Selection tool, select the circle you’ve just created.
- Go to tool box, choose the Gradient tool. Drag and release where you think the ending should be.
- Connect the bell to the clock. With the pen tool, click the center of the ball, and then make another click. Weight 3 points.
- Make the echo of the bells. We will use four circles to draw this. Draw four circles with no fills, Stroke R: 255, G: 191, B: 0. 2 pt stroke weight.
- Using scissors select two anchor points of each circle, and delete.
- Double click Reflect tool just like before.
- Make a circle with Option key pressed, type 1.8. R: 191, G: 231, B: 241.
- We will use only a quarter of the circle.
