Drawing the clock with circles Next
 

To do:

Go to File > New and click RGB. (8.5” by 11”)

  1. Save as Clock.ai
  2. Go to View > Show Rulers. Use Inches.
  3. Click and drag guides from the left and top ruler, release the mouse in the center.
  4. Go to toolbox, select the Ellipse tool
  5. Press Option key, the pointer will change to round icon. Click once and a dialog box will appear. Type 3 in both the Width and Height.
  6. Bring your color palette, choose RGB mode from the option menu.
  7. Type R: 255, G: 190, B: 0
  8. Draw two shades. One is half circle, the other a full circle.
  9. Draw a new circle using the same process as before. Type 2.7 slightly smaller than the first.

  10. Use scissors and delete the top of the circle.
  11. Type R: 255, G: 140, B: 0
  12. Rotate tool with the Option key pressed; click the intersection point of the crossing guide. In the dialog box, type -45 for the angle.

  13. Make one more circle with 2.1 inch.  R: 0, G: 160, B 200.
  14. Draw clock hands. Click and make a starting anchor point. With the shift key pressed, make a straight line.
  15. Move your pen tool toward 7 o’clock and click.
  16. Go to stroke palette, type 8 in the weight field and select the Round Cap button.




  17. Drawing Legs. Using pen tool, draw triangle with three anchor points.
  18. Position the Ellipse tool pointer on the bottom anchor point of the triangle, and draw a circle with Option key pressed. And Group them.
  19. R: 255, G: 140, B: 0. No stroke.
  20. Object > Arrange > Send to Back
  21. Double click the reflect tool. Choose Vertical and type 90 as the angle, Click Copy not OK.

  22. Draw an ellipse. R: 3, G: 74, B: 94.
  23. Draw 0.4” circle Width and Height.
  24. Window > Gradient, Radial gradient. Click the slider, and go to the Color palette. Pick a color.
  25. With the Selection tool, select the circle you’ve just created.
  26. Go to tool box, choose the Gradient tool. Drag and release where you think the ending should be. 
  27. Connect the bell to the clock. With the pen tool, click the center of the ball, and then make another click. Weight 3 points.

  28. Make the echo of the bells. We will use four circles to draw this. Draw four circles with no fills, Stroke R: 255, G: 191, B: 0. 2 pt stroke weight.
  29. Using scissors select two anchor points of each circle, and delete.
  30. Double click Reflect tool just like before.
  31. Make a circle with Option key pressed, type 1.8. R: 191, G: 231, B: 241.
  32. We will use only a quarter of the circle.
