Find an artist who utilizes the computer as his/her main creative medium, and makes animated films.
- Bear in mind that the artist you choose...
- makes animation (time-based, screen-based or media art) as contemporary art practice
- is rather an independent artist just like a painter or a sculptor usually working alone or with a small group of people
- works are original, creative and inventive in some degree
- During the meeting, you will give a brief presentation about the artist you have chosen and his work.
- Submit your research in any digital format you prefer such as PPT, PDF or Doc...

2nd Critique |
- Must be ready to show main 3D objects you will use in your animation.
- Since you already have prior experience in computer animation, the quality of 3D models you'll bring to class must be noticeably better than your previous ones in both technically and conceptually.
- Simplify, stylize and try to develop your own style rather than emulating what you are already familar with.
- Turn in a Maya file (mb) containing all 3D objects you've created on Bb before this meeting occurs.

|
3th Critique |
- Modeling must be done by this time.
- You should also have started texturing and lighting.
- Bring some stills (jpg) from your animation for the meeting, and also turn them in on Bb.
|
|
4th Critique |
- Before the meeting, you'll need to render some still images and movie files from your 3D scene(s), then submit them on Bb in a zip file.
- A rough draft of your demo reel should be presented. (*Art 444 Comp Anim III only)
