Uncertain of what to do
for a career?
- Consult a career counselor
or academic advisor
- Take an interest inventory
(often available at counseling or career advising centers)
- Make a list of all the
jobs you've enjoyed-- what do they have in common?
- Sometimes a person experiences
career confusion because of real or perceived pressure from significant others
to move in a particular direction. If you could select a career and no one
would know of it, what would you be doing?
- Give yourself permission
to spend a few years finding out what is important to you in terms of work.
Allow yourself to change your mind down the road.

career planning guide at the University of Waterloo (http://www.adm.uwaterloo.ca/infocecs/CRC/manual-home.html).
