Post-baccalaureate Employment in Psychology

Hints for maximizing your employability

There are some jobs in mental health, for example, for a person with a Bachelor's degree. Licensing and certification laws preclude a person with a Bachelors from engaging in psychological practice, but this person might work to find housing for abused women and children, serve as a house parent for troubled adolescents, work as an aid with the seriously mentally ill, or serve as a trainer for the mentally retarded. These can be good positions to take for a year or two while considering various options.

Some persons with a Bachelor's find employment doing statistical or survey work for employers. Interpersonal skills with mathematics is a powerful combination.
