Phil 102 – The Good & the Beautiful

ASSIGNMENT #3:  This paper is optional and may be used to replace one of the first two grades.  

Details : 3-4 pp. (typed, in 1.5 spacing*).  Submit in hard copy, not as an email attachment.  Use in-text references such

Due date :  Before the last day of class.  Deliver papers to my mailbox in CH 300. 

Description :  Sketch each of the five kinds of lives we have encountered in Hurka (pleasure, knowledge, achievement, morality, friendship), and then present both their respective attractions and their limitations. Which of these lives is most valuable, which is least so, and why?  Which mix of these elements makes for the best or most meaningful life?  What important elements, if any, are still missing?
