Mr Tycholski:

I would like to put my name in a candidate for the entry level management position open in your plan. I will be graduating college with a bachelor degree in Industrial Technology with an emphasis in Management. Graduating with a 3.4 GPA in the core classes. The 4.5 years I was in college working at a cutter grinding shop. There I built a great foundation for my future. I did not just learn how to do the work I learned how to work as a team dealing with customers. I also did alot of book keeping my first year. The shop tripled in man power, quadrupled the amount of jobs put out and doubled the size of the facility the time I was with the company. The most important things I believe I learned working through college is time management. In order to take care of school, work and any sort of social life it was the way to do it. While with the company I trained 2 new workers, researched the purchase of new machinery, and developed a system for tracking progress of work while in the facility.

I have enclosed a resume I can be reached at the home and work numbers listed there. If you like what I have to offer I am available for an interview at anytime.

Thank you.

Proofreaders' Marks Practice B: Campus Email Memo

Colleagues, We are in the process of developing a major in Popular Media Studies as an option of our multimedia education baccalaureate program. As you know, to develop an option, at least 50% of the courses need to be in common. We have identified the in-common courses and are now considering which additional courses should be required for the 48-hour major. I have identified a number of courses from your departments which would, in my judgment, be very suitable for the training of professionals who will not be teacher certified but who would be able to work with agencies and programs which serve individuals throughout the life span.

I would very much appreciate your reactions to the proposed courses for inclusion, as well as any suggestions for courses which I may have overlooked. In addition, requiring courses for a program may impact on the number of sections which would be needed, so I would appreciate receiving administrative feedback on whether your departments would even like to be included in this effort.

You may find yourself mixing several systems when doing this segment.

CHOOSING A COLLEGE

Choices for me have not always came easily. In deciding what college I would be attending after high school many other options were considered. The distance, my future career, and which schools my friends were attending were all apart of what was taken into consideration. After alot of months of pondering and asking for advice from my friends and family, I chose BigOld College. One might say that choosing the college you will be attending, is the hardest decision you will ever make. I was uncertain whether or not this school was the best choice for me. After all things considered, in my opinion I think I made a wise decision.

I had always had a tendancy of getting home sick so attending the closest school was one of my main concerns. BigOld was obviously the closest school so here I am. After entering school in the summer of 1994, I gained a greater interest for BigOld and was looking forward to attending the main campus in the fall. I would think that BigOld is like any other school in that it has its strengths and weaknesses. I have learned to appreciate its strengths and tolerate its weaknesses. My choice to come to BigOld was very dramatic for me. I feared the unknown. I did not know the first thing about college life. After moving down here, I enjoyed the so called "college life."

With out the doubt my choice to come to BigOld University has turned out to be the best decision for me. Most of the professors here at BigOld I have enjoyed taking and learned a lot from them. Although I have made some bad choices since attending BigOld, coming to BigOld was a good choice. The misfortunes I have had at BigOld has never made me want to switch schools so that says something about the rest of the college. Those teachers that I did not enjoy having has not made me lose my respect for the rest of the faculty. Everything I do at BigOld is done by choice, so choosing to go here was the first step to four years of choices.
