| For the essay, please bear in mind the following points: Strive to write a well thought out, carefully organized essay, insightful and original, yet bearing at all times on the topic and your thesis, expressed clearly in correct English or comprehensible French. The essay should convey a sense of progression or movement, as well as familiarity with the articles you have read. Each should likewise manifest discerning critical judgment and a growing sensitivity to cultural values. State clearly what the essay is meant to show right from the start. Take nothing for granted; assume that nothing is obvious. See to it that the essay does indeed achieve its stated purpose. Keep the essay focused on the topic; all statements should contribute to the development or elaboration of the essay topic.
