Current

I am currently working (pro bono) with officials in my home county (Butler) to increase the broadband Internet coverage in that area, especially the rural parts of the county.

Past

Working in conjunction with CITE, Inc and the Monticello-Wayne County (KY) governments, I served as the Project Manager of a Rural Broadband Infrastructure analysis from May until December 2003. This work entailed leading a team consisting of a financial modeler, engineers from Nortel, a Homeland Security expert and an e-Business expert with the goal of developing a rural broadband strategic plan for Monticello-Wayne County.

The key deliverables were

• assessments of current capabilities, strengths and vulnerabilities, in terms of high speed Internet access
• assessments of current capabilities, strengths and vulnerabilities, in terms of Homeland Security
• a high level network design to feed an implementation of high speed build out
• estimated costs to initiate, construct and maintain such a build out
• recommendations as to where to build out and  in what order of priority
