Research Project: Proposal

The first of three assignments related to the research project is the research paper proposal.

The research paper proposal should be no more than one double-spaced page in length.

The research paper proposal must be typed.

The proposal must include the following information in this order:

• your name, the class number and the date.

• the proposed research topic, including the subject matter, the relative time period, and the geographic focus as appropriate.

• the reason why this topic was selected.

• the main ideas that will be covered in the paper; in other words, in what specific ways you will narrow down the proposed topic.

• full citations for at least three references to be used in researching the paper.

The paper proposal is due at the beginning of class on Thursday, February 12.  Late proposals will not be accepted unless prior arrangements are made with the instructor, as described fully in the course syllabus.
