Research Project: Paper
Outline
The second of three assignments related to the research project is the research
paper outline. The outline should effectively convey the
details
you will present in your research paper as well as the order of your
ideas.
Essentially, you are writing a draft of your paper but in outline form.
The outline of your research paper should be about three to four pages
in
length.
The outline is a formal, full sentence outline with citations
for non-original information.
The outline must be typed.
The outline must include the following information:
- your name, the class number, and the date.
- a tentative title for the paper.
- information to be included in the introduction, body, and
conclusion
of the paper. The introduction must include a thesis
statement.
Please write the thesis in a complete sentence.
- a complete list of at least five reference
sources to be used in researching the paper.
The outline must be a formal outline, meaning you should
use
standard
symbols and indenting. Click here to see a sample
outline.
The research paper outline is worth up to 50 points.
The outline is due at the beginning of class on Thursday, April 10.
Outlines will not be accepted after that date unless prior arrangements
for an extension are made at least three days in advance of the due
date
(see full policy stated in the course
syllabus).
