  SPECIAL ABILITIES

Aura of Protection (Su) You can emit a 30-foot aura of protection for a number of rounds per day equal to your cleric level; these rounds need not be consecutive.

Channel Positive Energy (Su) As standard action, not provoking attack of opportunity, 30-ft. burst centered on cleric affecting either all living or all undead (choose one) in radius curing or inflicting damage respectively.

Channel Smite As swift action, before making melee attack roll, spend one use of your channel energy ability. If positive energy and you hit an undead creature, it takes additional damage equal to your channel positive energy ability. If negative energy and you hit a living creature, it takes additional damage equal to your channel negative energy ability. Target can make a Will save as normal to halve damage. If attack misses, the channel energy ability is still expended with no effect.

Gentle Rest (Sp) Your touch can fill a creature with lethargy, causing a living creature to become staggered for 1 round as a melee touch attack. If you touch a staggered living creature, that creature falls asleep for 1 round instead. Undead creatures touched are staggered for a number of rounds equal to your Wisdom modifier.

Improved Unarmed Strike (Ex) You do not provoke attacks of opportunity when you attack foes while unarmed. Your unarmed strikes can deal lethal or nonlethal damage, at your choice.

Magic Item Descriptions

bane special weapon ability Against designated type (or subtype) of foe, weapon's enhancement bonus is +2 better than its actual bonus, and it deals an extra 2d6 damage.

cloak of fangs 5/day—As swift action, grow oversized teeth for 1 round usable as primary natural attack dealing 1d6 damage (1d4 if Small). If already possess bite attack, increase damage one step. Grants +1 resistance bonus on saving throws.

ring of curing When you cast a conjuration spell of the healing subschool, all maximums to level-dependent healing increases by 2 (example, cure light wounds max is 1d8+7 or heal max 170). Does not increase caster level or amount of level-dependent healing provided.

sharding special weapon ability In place of any melee attack with weapon, make ranged attack (using Dex modifier to attack instead of Str) with 10 ft. range increment (up to 5 increments) as duplicate of weapon splits off and is hurled at opponent while original remains in hand. Can be used with iterative attacks and does provoke attacks of opportunity.

spellguard bracers 3/day—Choose to roll a concentration check to cast defensively twice and take the better result. Gain +2 bonus on concentration checks to cast defensively (factored in above).

stanching special armor ability Reduce hit point damage, ability damage, or ability drain damage from bleed by armor’s enhancement bonus. Add enhancement bonus to Con checks to become stable.

Resistant Touch (Sp) As a standard action, you can touch an ally to grant him your resistance bonus for 1 minute. When you use this ability, you lose your resistance bonus granted by the Protection domain for 1 minute.

Selective Channeling When channeling energy, choose a number of targets in area up to your Cha modifier. These targets are not affected.

Spontaneous Casting "Lose" any prepared spell that is not an orison or domain spell in order to cast any cure spell of the same spell level or lower.

Ward Against Death (Su) You can emit a 30-foot aura that wards against death for a number of rounds per day equal to your cleric level; these rounds need not be consecutive. Living creatures in this area are immune to all death effects, energy drain, and effects that cause negative levels. This ward does not remove negative levels that a creature has already gained, but the negative levels have no effect while the creature is inside the warded area.

History Boran was the child of a longshoreman and a seamstress in Baldur's Gate, the middle child with an older sister and younger brother. His sister married a chandler, and Boran was working as an apprentice scribe. Shortly before his eighteenth birthday, a pack of lacedons crept up from the sea in the middle of the night and attacked his family home. Boran succeeded in killing one of the creatures, and a mob of cityfolk and militia succeeded in driving the rest back into the sea; however, Boran's father, mother, and brother died in the attack. Boran looked on in horror as the mob decaptiated what was left of his family as a precautionary effort. Some might say something snapped in Boran at the moment; others might say something solidified. He determined then to rid the world of the undead menace and set out that night to find the nearest temple of Kelemvor. Boran immersed himself in doctrine, tactics, and training. He learned all he could about types of undead, their strengths and weaknesses, and their habitats. He honed his ability to channel positive energy so as to burn the scourge from the world.
 
Undermountain appeals to Boran due to the numerous rumors of vampires, ghouls, and other horrors within its depths. He is content eradicating any monstrous threat as long as he knows there are undead to come. He is not greedy and does not delve dungeons for the wealth. To him, each battle hones his skills and prepares him all the more to take the fight to the enemy. As long as he draws breath, Boran will plot ways to eliminate undead.
