History Malthus grew up in the shadows of the Hungry Mountains on the shores of Lake Kavapesta, the bastard son of a human midwife. He never knew his elven father, and he grew up rough. Peers made fun of his ears, his height, and his halfblood status. Survival required him to develop a quick wit and nimble tongue to talk himself out of trouble and beatings. As he got older, he grew until he was bigger and stronger than most of those who would pick on him. During this time, he worked with his mother nursing the sick, delivering children, and learning the midwife trade. He realized he wanted more out of life and joined the church of Sarenrae. He dove into his studies and merged his knowledge of healing with a sharp mind and a deep faith in the sun goddess.
 
Malthus grown into quite a man, strong in body, mind, and faith. He detests the undead and other mockeries of life and is eager to bring the cleasning flames of the sun goddess to bear against the evils of the world. He is not the most balanced or steady of aim, but his sword arm is strong, and he can conjure forth fire and energy to scourge the wicked. Two years ago, he got out of Kavapesta with help from Professor Lorrimor of Ravengro knowing that one day he would have to repay that favor.
