If a bout of depression over failing a college course and losing scholarship money, I went home to try and explain it to the family. When I got home I realized my parents were away visiting Grandma. Over the course of a few days I used alcohol to try and gain the courage and clarity to drop the news. When I woke up, my older sister (who lives down the street) had found me in the burning house and called the fire department. My relationship with my family had been fine up until the house burned, and the news of flunking college just strained my relationship with my parents even more. I thin k my sister thought I was trying to kill myself, so now she treats me entirely differently which causes me to try and see her less and less. This only makes her worry more and more and try and be invasive into my life. My father speaks to me if he has to, and my mother speaks to me as much as our situation allows.
