Timeline is measured in game time, not number of gaming sessions.
Day 1 - Party arrives outside the Dordrien Crypts; encounters
vampire and spawn and collapses mausoleum.
Day 2 - Party enters the Dordrien Crypts; discovers dead drow;
pillages the Dordrien tombs; encounters the ghost; despoils the tomb
of the ancient Dordrien.
Day 3 - Party finds statue of Jergal; encounters ropers and
Darvin and Caden Hammerbolt die; party slays ropers and takes companions
to Dagger Falls, then Arabel (via magic); slain party members receive true resurrection.
Day 4 - Party returns (via magic) to the crypts; encounter
bebiliths and loses valuable armor.
Day 5 - Party encounters aranea rangers and drow refugees; Alak
is taken prisoner and interrogated; party tensions mount as paladin is
restrained during "questioning"; Alak released after providing information;
party encounters Ely stumbling blindly in the dark.
Day 6 - Party encounters drow raiding party from Szith Morcane;
encounters a drow guard post and interrogates a guard; Ely disappears; party
attacked by a demon that gets polymorphed into a brittle snail; party fails
to scry Ely; Caden Hammerbolt is struck with a divine curse for willful
disregard for the safety of an ally.
Day 7 - Party ventures down hole and is attacked by drow; find
a large chasm with a huge spider web; several PCs venture into the chasm
and are attacked by a massive spider; Randall Tallstag knocks the spider
off the web by dropping a dead drow on it; Malcer tries to atone
Caden, but instead Caden is given a quest.
Day 8 - Party is again attacked by the massive chasm spider;
party is attacked by Szith Morcane soldiers; party revives one drow soldier
and questions him about Szith Morcane; party devises plan to disguise themselves
as Zhentarim to slip into Szith Morcane; Caden teleports to Arabel
and discovers more information about his quest.
Day 9 - In fulfillment of the curse, hezrou demons attempt to
devour Grim and Malark; Malark and Grim levitate down to the bazaar
level of Szith Morcane in Zhent disguise; entire party is gathered into an
abandoned warehouse and questioned; PCs bribe a mind flayer to get a message
to Solom Ned'razak saying they wish to take out the priestesses; party strikes
a deal with Solom-they will take out the priestesses, with his aid and they
shall proceed to Maerimydra to destroy the priestesses there.
Day 10 - Party solidifies deal with Ned'razak and is teleported
near Zedarr's chamber; party fights numerous quth-maren and drow vampires and
almost is defeated; party rescues Dessa from vampires and she leads them into
the fane to get a wand of restoration hidden in the sacrificial altar; Caden
recovers Dyrnwyn and Torm instructs him to give the blade to Randall Tallstag;
party fights Zedarr and Ripper and defeats them both; party crashes into
Dorina's chamber and finds an illusion to greet them; with the help of
Malcer, the PCs defeat the illusion and slay Dorina, Velasta, and two quth-maren;
party finds Dorina's secret coffin and triggers a blade barrier, which
Malark takes down with a wand of dispel magic; party destroys the coffin
and Dorina; PCs discover several letters telling of the Great Revenance and the
return of Shimmerscale and Doomblight; Solom Ned'razak leads the PCs to the
tunnel that leads to the Deep Wastes.
Day 11 - Party sets off into the Deep Wastes on the trek to
Maerimydra; party camps in a cavern and is brutally assaulted by a roving
purple worm (Caden and Evendur are eaten, but they survive).
Day 12 - Party spends a long day traveling through the Underdark
with no major events.
Day 13 - Party continues travel through Underdark; encounters a
chamber with loud laughter and thuds coming from overhead; Darvin sneaks forward
to investigate; party encounters a small band of stone giants and attempt
diplomacy; although visibly upset by the presence of Kane and Dessa (drow),
the giants lead the party to the Lake of Shadows; party bargains with the
giants--if the party will eliminate the kuo-toa at the temple, the giants
will give them a boat; party begins wading out to the island of the kuo-toa
and are attacked by a monstrous kraken; Dessa and Randall Tallstag are grabbed
and dragged into the depths of the lake and are presumed dead.
Day 14 - Caden, Evendur, and Malcer leave the party and head to
the surface with the intention of getting true resurrection for
Randall Tallstag; Carl and Ulmbryn Mystar meet up with Darvin and Malark
and head to the kuo-toa temple; the new Brotherhood wipes out the kuo-toa
in the first and second floor of the temple; Ulmbryn enters the pool in the
temple and assumes dire crocodile form where he is attacked by the Claw, leader
of the kuo-toa cult; party defeats the Claw, but not before he summons the
kraken; party fights and kills the kraken. Caden is contacted by an
unknown female via magic; Caden, Evendur, and Malcer encounter and kill a
powerful bulette.
Day 15 - Party travels with the stone giants the 17 miles across the
Lake of Shadows; party rests on shore of the lake before continuing onward.
Caden, Evendur, and Malcer have an uneventful day of Underdark travel; Caden
is scried.
Day 16 - Party travels approximately 2 miles from the Lake when they
encounter a black dracolisk, Carl and Malark turned to stone; using the portable
hole, Ulmbryn flies the statues back across the Lake to the stone giants; giants
restore Carl and Malark; the party reunites and continues once again. Caden,
Evendur, and Malcer discover the forge of Kronis (the cyclops minotaur) while
veiled as drow.
Day 17 - Party encounters a drider lair and defeats 4 drider fighters in
combat. Caden, Evendur, and Malcer reach Szith Morcane, talk with Solom Ned'razak,
and Caden teleports to Arabel and manages to get Randall Tallstag true resurrected. The four are sent
back out into the Underdark.
Day 18 - Party reaches Glouroth's Chasm and rings the bell; party
is attacked by a wing of kir-lanan gargoyles, Fodel is snatched and dropped 45
feet back to the stone floor; party defeats kir-lanan and retreat to recover;
Grim, Fodel and Kane leave the party to track a drow patrol; Malark receives a
magical communication from an unknown enemy; Bareris and Doji appear with a
botched teleport. Caden, Evendur, Malcer, and Randall talk to Kronis
about Dyrnwyn and agree to pay 200,000 gp for the sword's return; Caden is
scried; cross the Lake of Shadows and travel towards Glouroth's Chasm.
Day 19 - Party moves back to the chasm and Carl encounters a black-scaled
dragon shrouded in shadows; party fights the dragon and drives it off; dragon calls
for help from its daughter, and 4 kir-lanan (including one that is half-dragon) attack
the PCs; party defeats the kir-lanan. Caden, Evendur, Malcer, and Randall
continue travel at a forced march, trying to catch the rest of the party.
Day 20 - Caden, Evendur, Malcer, and Randall catch up to the
rest of the Brotherhood of the Badger; Caden, Randall, and Carl head back
off into the Underdark; the party levitates up the
chasm and enters the dragon lair; a titanic battle ensues between the shadow
dragon and the party wherein the dragon is slain with a fire seeds spell, but at the cost of
Malcer's life; party gathers the dragon's horde as well as the treasures
from the lairs of his kir-lanan minions.
Day 21 - Party rests at the top of the chasm after the dragon
battle; Ulmbryn reincarnates Malcer, who returns in the body of a
centaur.
Day 22 - Party starts off into the Underdark towards Lich's Mire
when Malark notices he is being scried; a gelugon devil attacks the
party and is eventually defeated.
Day 23 - Party travels toward Lich's Mire and is ambushed by a
pack of mind flayers and the half-kraken/half-drow daughter of the kraken
of the Lake of Shadows; entire party is stunned by the mind flayers; Malark
reaches -9 hit points before being healed by Ulmbryn; Bareris kills
all the mind flayers with circle of death; Ulmbryn slays the half-kraken
with fire seeds; party licks wounds and continues onward.
Day 24 - Party encounters Doomblight in a half-humanoid/half-scorpion
form; party and Doomblight fight viciously until Evendur folded the incriminating
letter into a strange flying shape and hurled it into her; Doomblight read the letter
and stopped her assault; party reaches an agreement with Doomblight to help
warn Shimmerscale of betrayal in Maerimydra in exchange for her
forgoing her attempts at vengeance; party resumes travel, with Doomblight,
and fights and kills a purple worm.
Day 25 - Malcer casts sending and warns Shimmerscale;
Doomblight and characters part company; party follows a slime trail and
encounters two gelatinous umber hulks and a gelatinous cube; party fights and
kills a gelatinous dire bear; Bareris wanders off from the party and triggers
a greater glyph of warding and is then dissolved by a black pudding;
party fights a cleric of the Elder Elemental god; party rescues Generix the
half-bronze dragon.
Day 26 - Party encounters a patrol of goblins, ogres, a fire
giant, and a vrock demon; party kills all but the vrock, which they drive
off.
Day 27 - Party continues travel towards Lich's Mire with no
major events.
Day 28 - Party encounters a death kiss beholderkin and engages
in a vicious battle; creature explodes when killed.
Day 29 - After several miles of travel, the party encounters
several cornugon and hamatula devils; devils are defeated after a prolonged
and vicious battle; Ulmbryn's dire bear drops to -9 hit points before magical
healing.
Day 30 - Characters reach Lich's Mire and see two female drow; thinking
to parlay, the party discovers they do not speak a common language; while party
tries to communicate, a beholder floats down from an opening in the ceiling;
party tries to buy its way past the beholder; it takes their money and attacks
anyway; Generix leaps up from the chasm up on top of the beholder in an effort
to rip off it's eyestalks; Generix and Darvin slain by the beholder's finger
of death eye rays; Malcer uses raise dead on Generix; party slays beholder and drow and take refuge in the
beholder's lair.
Day 31 - Malcer uses raise dead on Darvin; party comes down
from beholder lair to discover the bodies of the drow and beholder are gone;
party attempts to proceed through the mire and is ambushed by a grimlock and
mind flayer; Darvin recovers from the illithid's stun attack and skewers
it with his rapier, slaying it; Generix shreds the mind flayer's corpse
while Evendur kills the grimlock.
Day 32 - Party travels on through Lich's Mire and towards
Maerimydra; party encounters a nalfeshnee and glabrezu demon; the glabrezu
is slain and the other driven off.
Day 33 - Characters travel throughout the day with no encounter.
Day 34 - The party comes upon the great gates of Maerimydra and
a group of four fire giants; party speaks with the fire giants and is warned
to leave; Malcer tries to cast a sending to Kurgoth Hellspawn, but the
giants didn't know what he was casting and attacked; Darvin, Evendur Windstrider,
Ulmbryn Mystar, and the dire bear are slain by the giants and Malark is beaten
unconscious; Malcer and Generix surrender.
Day 35 - Party is taken prisoner within Maerimydra and slain party
members revived.
Day 36 - Party is in prison and beaten and abused mercilessly by Kurgoth's
soldiers.
Day 37 - Beatings continue; party members are each branded with Kurgoth's
mark on the left cheek.
Day 38 - Characters dragged into the coliseum before Kurgoth Hellspawn where
he offers them the chance to win their freedom by amusing him in the arena; they are
told they will fight until Kurgoth deems their crime of killing a fire giant is
paid in full.
Day 39 - Party fights in the arena, engaging each other and other gladiators in
mortal combat; party discovers Shimmerscale has been imprisoned in the arena
as well--he slays Evendur but offers hints at an alliance; Skald, the fire
giant slain by the party is raised and engages Malark in one-on-one combat,
avenging himself.
Day 40 - Party spends the day in brutal gladiator competition,
including a match between Evendur and Malcer; Malcer proves victorious; Skald
continues his vengeance on the party by slaying Ulmbryn in the arena.
Day 41 - Party is released by Kurgoth and pointed toward Castle
Maerimydra; party encounters a group of walking dead and proves victorious;
party walks up to the front door of the Castle and tries to pick the lock;
party is caught between the door and a wall of force and pounded on by
arrow, blade and spell until they can flee over the side of the stairwell. First day
of attempts on Castle Maerimydra - they did not get in.
Day 42 - Party regroups and prepares divination spells to learn more information;
party speaks with several members of Kurgoth's army for information. Second day
of attempts on Castle Maerimydra - they did not get in.
Day 43 - Party investigates the back door of the Castle and
gets in a battle with the guards; they see several living drow as well
as undead spellcasters before being driven off by the defenders' might.
Third day of attempts on Castle Maerimydra - they did not get in.
Day 44 - Kurgoth's army leaves Maerimydra, giving up the castle
as lost; a great horn sounds from Castle Maerimydra, and the party notices
shapes shuffling through the shadows; Ulmbryn attempts a disguise to investigate
a house and gets attacked and killed by ghasts and morhgs; party turns the back
doors of the Castle to wood and burst them asunder; party fights a revenant
spellguard and eventually kill it in its own wall of fire; party tries to
smoke out the castle occupants with an eversmoking bottle to no avail.
Fourth day of attempts on Castle Maerimydra - they did not get in.
Day 45 - Malcer learns of the Hidden through a divination;
party begins search through Maerimydra for the Hidden, starting with the
Noble's Plateau; party encounters fire giant skeletons and ogre zombies; party
encounters a mind flayer sorcerer and three half-illithid lizardfolk; Malcer
is mentally controlled and turns on the party, unleashing a blade barrier;
Malcer forces Grim into the blade barrier, while a half-illithid mentally
compels Darvin to "go to the center and grab all those pretty feathers"; Darvin
falls unconscious and dying within the blade barrier, all the while attempting
to grab "feathers"; Malark dispels the blade barrier with a wand of dispel
magic; Grim incapacitates Malcer; party defeats the mind flayers.
Day 46 - Party learns of the Shattered Tower via divination and
seeks the Hidden; Darvin finds the Hidden and convinces them to listen to his
allies; party strikes a deal with the Hidden, and Malark is quest-melded with one of
the Hidden--if the party betrays their part of the bargain, Malark dies; Hamadh, leader
of the Hidden, gives the party the password to Castle Maerimydra, Isztava Morthaum.
Day 47 - Party enters Castle Maerimydra and engages numerous
drow guards; party defeats four undead monks in the grand hallway of the
castle; party fights and kills two vampires and drives off a third.
Day 48 - Party fights ten drow guardians and the third vampire
and defeat them; party finds a shaft of light on one end of the hallway
and a stairwell on another; party fights a hezrou silveraith and slays it;
Malark discovers a pack of abyssal ghouls, and Darvin and Evendur are slain,
party defeats the ghouls.
Day 49 - Ulmbyrn uses true reincarnate to bring Darvin
back as a human; party places Evendur's corpse into the portable hole
and continues on; party climbs stairs up to level two and encounters revenant
drow guards, the mummified undead form of Zedarr, and Dorina the vampire priestess;
Ulmbryn opens another door, bringing drow fighters and a revenant spellguard into
the fray; Dmeitrius destroys Zedarr, Malcer turns Dorina, and party defeats the drow.
Day 50 - Caladnei contacts Malcer and informs him of the negative energy
noticable on the surface; Ulmbryn uses true reincarnate to bring Evendur back as
a half-elf; party fights several drow fighters and a horde of drow and ogre zombies;
party defeats zombies and their necromancer commanders.
Day 51 - Party mops up straggler ogre zombies and proceeds further in
level two; party fights and defeats numerous fire giant skeletons and ogre zombies;
party steps into the shaft of light and discovers they can levitate within.
Day 52 - Party uses levitation shaft to go up to the grate between levels
four and five-a doomsphere negates the magic and party plunges 160 ft. to the floor on
level one; party climbs up and slays doomsphere; party attempts to use a pulley and
portable ram to knock the grate open, but the drow above cut their ropes; party engages
drow through the grate, and the drow sound the alarm; party starts to retreat and discovers
a pack of abyssal ghouls in a despoiled library; party flees down shaft to the second floor.
Day 53 - Party flees into the grand hall and is ambushed by Dorina and two arachnoid
feral ogres; Dorina banishes Dmeitrius; party drives off Dorina and slays the ogres; the
abyssal ghouls catch up to the party and slay Evendur; party kills the abyssal ghouls and
Ulmbryn casts true reincarnate to bring Evendur back as a dwarf.
Day 54 - Party fights cult champions and nearly loses Darvin and Malark;
party interrogates a cult champion and she tells them of an armoury and stairwell on
level four leading past the grate; party moves up to level four and fights an arachnoid
roper.
Day 55 - Party fights a monstrous spider, an arachnoid gray render,
and the vampire drider, Jhorganni; Jhorganni escapes through the wall by becoming
ethereal; party moves up to level five and attacks guards surrounding the levitation
shaft grate and find Jhorganni with them; party defeats or turns the defenders and
Ulmbryn forces Jhorganni into gaseous form.
Day 56 - While the party stands around examining doors,
an archmage steps forth and begins spellcasting; party drives off the archmage
and kill three tower guards, but Malark and Malcer are slain; Malcer returns
as a ghost and Malark is raised.
Day 57 - Party encounters two undead dragons, one white and one
black; party slays the black dragon zombie and makes a deal with the white one
to find its lost pearl; party goes hunting Duneth the archmage and crosses to
the other tower where they fight half a dozen quth-maren; Evendur gets a whiff
of abyssal ghouls nearby.
Day 58 - Party fights abyssal ghouls and defeats them; party goes down
a level and fights three revenant drow evokers and a cult champion; party encounter
Laerekh, who disintegrates Ulmbryn; after Laerekh is slain by Grim, party
finds they have no means of restoring Ulmbryn.
Day 59 - Party finds Duneth and slays him, recovering the missing
pearl; party gives the pearl to Ice, who tricks the party into helping him
escape the castle; party encounters Dorina, who seemed to be spellstitched, and
drive her off; party encounters Wyrruth of Shade Enclave and leaves him in peace;
party encounters Khumarr and slays him.
Day 60 - Party slays several abyssal ghouls and Jhorganni, the drider
vampire; party fights valiantly against a trio of blood fiend demons and eventually
prevails; party encounters a vampire monk and a female drow cleric and slay them;
party encounters a mighty iron golem and eventually overcomes it with a barrage
of lightning and attacks.
Day 61 - Party rests and comes upon a large structure with a huge,
obsidian sphere hanging beside it; party finds entrance into the structure.
Day 62 - Party encounters a medusa sorcerer/archer who fights from
the ethereal plane, but the party eventually prevails after Respen and Grim are
petrified; Malcer breaks the enchantment and restores his allies; party travels
onto the ethereal plane and fights an orb wraith; party finds a door trapped with
a prismatic spray that sends Grim and Darvin back to the Material plane;
party jumps through the central orb and comes out by Grim and Darvin.
Day 63 - Party fights and defeats a keening spirit; party stumbles
into the draegloth, Flenser, and several quth-maren; party defeats the
draegloth; party enters the inner sanctum and encounters Irae T'sarran face-to-face.
Day 64 - Party defeats Irae T'sarran but suffers the lose of Malcer,
Malark, and Respen.
Day 65 - All party members resurrected except for Respen, whose soul
refused to return; party encounters Taeghen Eveningfall, an elven mystic theurge
with a thirst for magic and drow blood; party battles the lichdrow Umaerh and
destroys his body; party returns to the Hidden and finds they have been slaughtered
except for Guk and Wisp; Malark learns his binding to the Hidden was nothing more
than a lie; party agrees to take Guk and Wisp with them out of Maerimydra; party
travels out of Maerimydra and into the Deep Wastes where they fight several ogre
barbarians.
Day 66 - Party fights a patrol of Maggot Spawn orogs and Darvin and
Evendur are slain; party revives slain members; party fights greater flame snakes,
and Grim and Taeghen are eaten; party revives slain members.
Day 67 - Party encounters three grimlocks and barters free passage through
their territory; party destroys three swarms of scarab beetles; party encounters
several duergar and negotiate a deal to slip by the guard post.
Day 68 - Start of next game.
