Silvermane's Magic Statue (Alteration, Enchantment/Charm) | ||||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
This powerful magic shrinks and "freezes" the target. The statue may be transported by the caster. The caster says a command word, chosen during the casting, and the statue returns to its normal size. The freed being must serve its releaser for 1d8 rounds plus the caster's level. At the end of this time, the being is free to go on its way (or attack anyone around). The statue retains all color and appearance and appears (for good reason) very life-like. The statue can be sold for a rather high price for artistic value. If the command word is known, the statue could be sold for the XPV of the statued creature. The caster can determine how much a creature is actually reduced during the spell. The minimum amount is zero, while the maximum is equal to what the caster could do with a Reduce spell. Variants of this spell actually petrify the victim. Some turn them into valuable materials such as onyx or jade. The material component for this spell is a pinch of powdered diamond worth at least 5,000 gp. The variants listed above require a pinch of the substance the target is to be transformed into as well (i.e., for an onyx statue, a pinch of powdered onyx is needed as well as the powdered diamond).
