Married to Martha Jane Ward on 15 Dec 1875.

Children: McKinley Carney, Ethel May Carney.

Died: 02 July 1908 (per Bible record), 23 July 1908 (per newspaper), and 1905 (per tombstone), in Fentress County, TN
