About Me:

2007-01-01 @ 00:01, Category, My name, Comments

I was born in San Antonio, TX on July 6th, 1990 to the most wonderful parents Beth and Tim. We lived in San Antonio until the age of 8. Being that my dad is quite the adventurer change became a common thing for me as a child. We moved to East Texas for my parents to pursue a new type of lifestyle and career as poultry farmers, interesting right? I did the majority of my growing up in East Texas and learned the true meaning of hard work and dedication. As a child growing up on a farm I loved spending a majority of my time outside fishing, hunting and riding horses.I was active in FFA (Future Farmers of America) where I showed pigs and goats and remained athletic through particpation in basketball, softball and cheerleading. I have one brother who has kept me sane since I was a child always looking out for me and keeping things interesting. We are only one year apart so our entire lives we have been competitive with one another but I can say that he is the most incredible brother I could ask for and not only great family but a great friend.

Entering high school was a whirlwind for me. Upon my freshmen year we moved again to Knoxville, TN. I went from a class of 19 students to a class of over 400 students. Not only was I in a state of shock but it was my first experience in a big city. I remained in many academic organizations throughout high school and took offices in organizations such as FBLA and SGA. Going from a small town to a big city has taught me many skills including how to adapt to different enviornments and how different groups of people have very different needs and values.

Throughout my senior year I was torn on where I wanted to attend college. My entire life my heart was set on attending Texas A&M as all my family before me had. It was our families pride and joy and would take me back to the Lone Star State where all of my family still resided. However, I got scholarship offers from WKU for the Honors College and thought there was no harm in a campus tour. After touring the campus I knew where my heart belonged. When I first began my journey at WKU I was a Public Relations major becuase of my love for people and interaction. However, after my first semester of journalism classes that I dreaded attending and bored me, I knew it was not the major for me. After being undecided for almost a year I changed to Healthcare Administration and could not have been happier or more pleased with the decision. The classes challenge me but also have helped mold me as a person and I have truly found my career calling. Also upon beginning at WKU I knew that I wanted to be greek and join a sorority. I went through sorority recruitment and sought out an organization that made me feel at ease, where I could be myself and could be my "home away from home." Home is where the heart is and Alpha Delta Pi is now my new home. College has been an incredible experience for me and becoming a Health Care Administration major at WKU and an avid member Alpha Delta Pi has impacted my future career tremendously, in more ways than just academically.

When it coems to my career goals I have very ambitous and passionate goals. Coming close to graduation (240 days, no im not counting or anything..) I have developed a very thorough plan for where I am now, where I want to be after graduation and how to best achieve those goals. I want to pursue an MBA degree and perhaps a dual masters degree in HCA. Being the epitome of a people person with exceptional interpersonal skills and passionate leadership I know as a Healthcare Administrator I could greatly use my skills to help others and improve quality of care in our system. I eventually would love to be the Director/Administrator of an Ambulatory Care center. I live to learn and significantly invest my heart and soul into everything that I do and will not give up until I have reached what I consider my personal success.
