Information Security New Curriculum and Certificate Program Development

·        Played a major role in developing a new curriculum and a certificate program in information security.

1.      Two new courses (CS157 and CS257) in information security were proposed and developed.

2.      Worked with the CAE (Center of Academic Excellence) committee members (Dr. James Gary, Dr. Robert Crawford) to get the new courses approved by the various required committees.

3.      Mapped the new curriculum to the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) National Standard 4011(National Training Standard for Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Professionals) with 256 items. An official certificate was awarded in 2011.

4.      Proposed and submitted CNSS 4011 Certificate Program based on the two new courses CS157 and CS257. It was approved by the Western Kentucky University and was implemented in spring 2013.
