Meet Mrs. Sponhouse

I am a 2006 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.  Teaching is my passion.  I love working with children, and I cherish my job!  For the past two years, I have had the privilege of teaching at Hiseville Elementary.  This year I am teaching kindergarten, and I absolutely love it!  Hiseville is a wonderful place to work!  The faculty and staff are a phenomenal group of people!

My husband, Rodney, and I have been married for a little over 2 years.  Rodney is a sergeant at the local police department.  We are a very spontaneous couple.  We love to travel and spend time together, but we hardly ever make plans to do anything.  We usually do things on a whim…

I am the youngest of three children.  I have a sister, Jamie, who is also a teacher.  She and her husband, Jeff, live only a few houses down from me with my nephew, Jackson.  Jackson is wonderful!  He is a very important part of my life!  My brother, Brandon, holds a marketing degree from WKU.  He and his wife, Kaleena, who is working on her teaching degree, live further away than I would like.  I have always been close to my brother and miss his company very much!  My parents, Paul and Debbie, still reside in the house where I grew up.  They have been married for over 30 years and are just as much in love today as the day when they said, “I do.”

I am a very energetic, happy-go-lucky person.  If I have a spare moment of time for myself, I love to read.  My favorite author is Jane Austen.  I also enjoy running, watching my favorite television show – The Golden Girls, attending live play productions, going to baseball games, and watching UFC pay-per-views with my husband.  I am a true girlie girl in every way.  I love make-up, shoes, purses, getting a manicure or pedicure, tanning, and shopping.  Above all, I LOVE to teach.  I count my blessings each day that I am able to do what I love to do!
