RULES AND GUIDELINES *

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES :
You must currently be enrolled in a Bowling Green Community College course.
Submit up to three poems, but no more than a total of three typed pages. Poetry entries should be typed, single-spaced, and formatted in Times New Roman twelve-point font.
CREATIVE NONFICTION ESSAY:
Submit a persuasive essay no longer than five pages. There are no limits on its subject or style; for example, it could reflect on a personal experience, it could explore an abstract concept, or it could develop an argument about a controversial issue. However, the majority of its content cannot consist of research; if so, it will be classified in the “Research Paper” category below. Essays should be typed, double-spaced, and formatted in Times New Roman twelve-point font.
Submit one short story, preferably no longer than ten pages. Fiction entries should be typed, double-spaced, and formatted in Times New Roman twelve-point font.
Submit one essay no longer than five pages in length that relies heavily on research (e.g., an informative essay, a research paper, etc.). Research papers should be typed, double-spaced, and formatted using Times New Roman twelve-point font and standard one-inch margins.
NOTE: By submitting to this contest, you are giving Bowling Green Community College permission to post your writing on its website, as winning entries, after editing, will be featured on www.bgcc.wku.edu.

PRIZES WILL BE OFFERED IN EACH CATEGORY!
While the winners are chosen during the spring semester, students may wish to submit their work during the fall semester (especially if their instructors are offerering them extra credit for submitting).
