Program Overview

Welcome to eMath, a program designed for busy teachers who wish to broaden their knowledge of the mathematics that relates to what they teach!  This program leads to a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics, but its courses are also useful to those who need graduate mathematics hours for other reasons.  eMath may be an appropriate program for you if you are seeking mathematics courses that will allow you to teach as an instructor at a two-year or four-year college or if you are seeking a master’s degree to achieve a subsequent salary rank.

The “e” in eMath means that all required courses are available electronically via the Internet!  Video lessons on your computer are available when you have time to view them.  (Please view the Tegrity video lesson on the eMath homepage to see a sample of online mathematics instruction.)  Assignments are submitted electronically, and most tests are administered electronically as well.

Online education is the fastest-growing mode of learning —especially for busy adults.   Western Kentucky University (WKU) recognizes this growing trend and has become a known leader in distance learning, offering online master’s degree programs like eMath.  Allowing you to continue your study of mathematics in a way that recognizes your busy lifestyle is the cornerstone of eMath.  The expertise of the WKU mathematics faculty together with the convenience and flexibility of online instruction are a proven winning combination that ultimately helps busy adults realize their educational goals!
