The eMath program is delivered in an on-line format and requires its students to own and maintain a suitable personal computer. Please note that it is not sufficient to merely have occasional access to a PC (e.g., at the public library or at the office) as the work requirements in the program are significant.
Computer Requirements:
P4 or comparable AMD processor
256 MB of RAM (minimum) – 512 MB+ (recommended)
CD Burner
Sound Card with Speakers
Microphone (headset style recommended)
Windows XP Operating System
Anti-Virus Software (current)
Firewall Software
Internet : Dial-Up access (minimum) – Broadband (strongly recommended)
Students are reminded that neither WKU nor the eMath faculty are able to provide computer support, troubleshoot problems with network access, etc. Students should contact their Internet Service Providers (ISP) and competent local repair personnel with questions.
Blackboard:
Several eMath faculty utilize Blackboard for online instruction. Please contact WKU’s Information Technology Helpdesk at 270-745-7000 for questions, technical support, and more information regarding Blackboard.
