A Completed KIIS Application Consists of the Following:
A completed online application submitted through the MyKIIS system.(the mykiis instruction sheet will guide you through that process)
Application essay (approx. 300 words) on "why you would like to study abroad." You will upload your essay during the online MyKIIS application process. Essays for Summer programs should be written in English; for Semester programs, see details below. Summer programs: one faculty recommendation Semester programs: two faculty recommendations (click for Spring / Fall) One transcript (from your current or most recent college or university). You may send it to KIIS in ONE of three ways: Email kiis@wku.edu your unofficial transcript (access it from your online university account) OR Have your Registrar mail your official transcript directly to KIIS at the address below OR Pick up your transcript at your Registrar (official transcripts issued to student are accepted) & e/mail it to KIIS yourself Note: KIIS requires official transcript for all Graduate students (unofficial transcript an option for undergrads only) Copy of your passport photo page OR a copy of your completed passport application. Email it to kiis@wku.edu(apply for or renew your passport immediately-- it can take 2-3 months to arrive. When your new passport arrives, email KIIS a copy)
.Email one photo of yourself to KIIS office (any basic head/shoulder shot will do). Not required if passport photo page is sent. $150 application fee. Pay online through MyKIIS, by phone or by mail-- see Payment Info for details.(if you are not accepted into a KIIS program, KIIS will refund your $150 application fee)
Contact your KIIS Campus Representative to complete any study abroad paperwork required by your home institution.Early Application Deadline (Save $100):
Summer programs: January 20
Fall Semester programs: April 1
Spring Semester programs: October 1 (Regensburg excluded)
Note: To receive the $100 Apply Early discount (applied to your final program payment), submit your online application & pay your $150 application fee by the applicable date above. Your supporting materials (i.e. faculty rec, transcript, etc.) must arrive at KIIS office by the applicable Regular Application Deadline date below.
Regular Application Deadline:
Summer programs: February 15
Fall Semester programs: April 15
Spring Semester programs: October 22
Acceptance Notification: approximately 3 weeks after regular application deadline above
