2010 STUDENT PAPER PRIZE CONTEST
KENTUCKY PHILOSOPHICAL ASSOCIATION
$100 PRIZE

Eligibility:

Contest open to any undergraduate student who attends a college or university in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Topic:

The essay may be on any topic within the field of philosophy, or may consist of the application of philosophical principles to some other field; however, this essay should exhibit an appropriate degree of philosophical development becoming of an advanced undergraduate student. Only one essay may be submitted by each entrant.

Manuscript Guidelines:

  • Limit of 4, 000 words
  • Prepared for anonymous review-only the title should appear on the paper. Author's name should appear with title of paper only in cover letter
  • For hard copy submissions, send three (3) copies
  • For electronic (e-mail) submissions, include paper as an attachment in .doc (MS Word) or .rtf. Be sure to put "KPA" in the subject line.

    Deadline:

    All entries must be postmarked or emailed by MARCH 19, 2010.

    Awards:

    First Place Winner: Will receive $100 and read the essay at the KPA Spring 2010 meeting, April 17.
    Runner-Up: Will receive a letter of recognition from the Kentucky Philosophical Association.
