A
minor in Applied Statistics (Ref.
No. 313) requires a minimum of 19 semester
hours. This program is designed for a student seeking a career as
a statistical programmer / analyst / consultant in a knowledge-based
industry or in a research institution.
The requirements are
(ii) STAT 301, STAT 330, and STAT 401 (9 hrs)
(iii) At least 6 credit hours from the following:
(a) Any 300-level or 400-level STAT course other than 301, 330, and 401;
(b) MATH 382, 482, or 470;
(c) At most 3 credit hours of 300-400 level statistical coursework relevant to the student’s area of study (with
prior approval from the Statistics Education Committee of the Department of Mathematics)
At
least one-third of the course requirements in the minor must
be earned at WKU. You must have a GPA of at least 2.0 in the
minor courses and in the minor courses completed at WKU.
