I would like for the student listed below to attend the WKU Writing Project's Young Writers' Camp on January 21 from 8:00am-3:00 pm, where the focus of the day's writing will be play writing with an emphasis on diversity.  I understand that this is a fun, learning activity and have discussed with this student the importance of good behavior, respect, and consideration of other participants.  During the Young Writers Camp, I understand that photographs and videos may be taken to document the event.  I give my permission for photographs or videos taken of this child at the Young Writers' Camp to be used in educational or promotional materials produced by and/or for the WKU Writing Project or Western Kentucky University.  I further understand that Western Kentucky University and/or its representatives are not held responsible in the unlikely event that any injuries are incurred by the participant during this event.

Because the event is limited by space, only 40 students will be allowed to attend.  You, the parent, will be contacted by phone and/or email to confirm your child's attendance or non-attendance.  If you have not been contacted by a Writing Project representative by Friday, January 4, please contact Mollie Wade Co-Director of the Writing Project (mwade1984@aol.com or 270-843-4347) to confirm that your child's application has been received. There will not be extra room for students who are not registered to "drop-in"; pre-registration and confirmation are required.  Feel free to call or email if you have any questions about the Camp.

Students need to arrive at Cherry Hall on the campus of Western Kentucky University between 7:50 and 8:00am.  They need to be picked up promptly at 3:00 pm.  The $40 fee covers all necessary supplies, and lunch will be provided.  All students need to bring are a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and have fun.  Please leave all cell phones, video games, and other electronic devices at home.

I would like for my child to attend the Young Writers' Camp ONLY if he/she could receive one of the limited financial scholarships available.
  I WILL NOT pay for the event.

I would like for my child to attend the Young Writers' Camp whether or not he/she receives one of the limited financial scholarships available.  I WILL send a $40 check to the WKU Writing Project for the event, which I understand will be returned to me if my child receives a scholarship.

I would like for my child to attend the Young Writers' Camp WITHOUT a financial scholarship.  I WILL PAY for the event by sending a check for $40 made to the WKU Writing Project.
