GEOGRAPHY OF EUROPE - GEOG464

** Dr. Keeling is a very good instructor but sometimes has a tendency to teach his own political and social views as fact and not just his personal viewpoint and seems unwilling to acknowledge other viewpoints as valid. [Professor's response: Your statement about opinions is just not true! Throughout the course I offered viewpoints that I clearly stated were my personal opinion and I proceeded to support those opinions by scientific fact. That's part of the pedagogic process! As a student interested in critical thinking you should have, and could have, taken issue with any of the viewpoints expressed with your own opinions, supported, of course, by scientific fact. I never have dismissed any student's opinion in any course I teach, as long as it has some sense of logic, rationale, and scientific basis. As we discussed in class, opinions driven purely by emotion, bias, stereotyping, brainwashing, or by ignorance of the facts don't have much relevance in a critical thinking environment.]

Grade Distribution: B = 5; F = 1.

Quantitative Responses:
"Overall, my instructor is effective" = 100% Strongly Agreed or Agreed.
"My instructor displays enthusiasm" = 100% Strongly Agreed or Agreed.
"My Instructor is well prepared" = 100% Strongly Agreed or Agreed.
