INTRODUCTION TO LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES -- GEOG/LAS 200

** Note: This course is team-taught by three professors, so comments may reflect opinions of other professors in the course.
** Things I learned in Keeling's section helped me understand concepts in some of my government and international relations courses. The movies also added an interesting element that we could relate to.
** I think it's sad that the only way to learn about these places is to take one class. It's a lot of information to take in. And not really an easy way to present it all at once. I feel that all of the teachers have given a good effort but the class is difficult. I think the information covered by Dr. Keeling is harder and a bit dull. And the speaker in Garrett was boring [Guest Speaker from Ohio University]. He had trouble getting to the point.
** The class has been an incredible experience. The laidback approach has helped me to relly look forward to coming to class.
** Dr. Keeling as well as Dr. Salisbury are good teachers [and] they are interesting and seem to enjoy what they do.
** Both Dr. Keeling and Dr. Salisbury made this class very interesting. Their enthusiasm was always apparent during the class.
** The format of this class is good. I like having different teachers for each section. They each brought unique things to the class.
** I think the political and historical sections should be together in lectures and more emphasis should be placed on culture!
** The accent is a little bit difficult, and it's really bad when you speak Spanish.
** Dr. Keeling is a nice man!
