Huari (Wari) Empire



Huari (Wari) was one of the first empires of Andean South America. The development of urbanism may be traced to Huari.

centralized and hierarchical state government

state revenue collection system (especially corvee labor) was precursor to Incan system

bureaucratic residences present at administrative centers
