Malvina Reynolds: Song Lyrics and Poems

A White and Orange Aeroplane

Notes: words and music by Malvina Reynolds; copyright 1965 Schroder Music Company, renewed 1993.

A white and orange aeroplane
Against a cloudy sky,
Moving away into a world
Where people all can fly.
With coca cola on the moon
And all the seas gone dry,
And I said, Goodbye, goodbye.
A new world, a strange world,
A world I'll never know,
Where all the trees are turned to planks
And the streams no longer flow.
And there is no place to go.
