 Character Background: Dunzar is a human who toiled away as a merchant in his uncle's store, always longing to do more with his life. He never knew his parents, but his uncle was a faithful follower of Illmater for as long as he can remember. He was always told it was only by the grace of Illmater he was not killed when his parents met there doom at the hands of a group of followers of Talos who were paying tribute to there god by burning and pillaging their small town. For this, he always felt a debt of gratitude toward the Broken Deity.
As he grew older he left the Merchant trade to follow a love he had for books and the magic found in them. As his power grew he was noticed by the local clergy and soon found favor the Illmater himself. As his power in the clergy grew he never lost his love for the "book magic" and has continued to progress in this as well.
During his studies he has heard many tales of monks leaving the area to fight a number of enemies of the church. He became enamored with particular stories about of monk from his homeland named Jean-Baptise. The more he read about this servant of the Triad the more he day dreamed of how he could aid the hero in his many adventures. He has had a difficult time trying to catch up with Jean-Baptise and during a number of these adventures he as called upon the aid of Di-fur, a Planar Ally who has help and saved him many times. Though you could say they exactly share a friendship they do enjoying stomping out evil where ever they find it. It is with the help Di-fur and an ancient wizard friend who he soon convinced to help him that he was able to find Jean-Baptise in such a remote location. He looks forward to serving the Triad and aiding Jean-Baptise in any way possible. He believes it is his call and his charge to do so.
