Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition - Old Monsters, New Offspring
The Advanced Dungeons & Dragons game is full of monstrous foes and mystical allies to challenge PCs. On thousands of Prime worlds, filled with thousands of wizards, god, and dragons, it is inevitable that some will "play" with the lesser beings around them. Wizards often strive to create slave races, and who can fathom the doings of the Powers? While the deities can create races if so desired, wizards are not so lucky. Powerful enchantments, such as the Lifeblend spell, allow mages to magically merge races. However, such castings are unreliable at best.

Since the early years of the 1st Edition AD&D game, half-breeds have been an intregal part of the game. Most campaigns have half-elf and half-orc inhabitants. The FORGOTTEN REALMS have even more exotic creatures, such as half-dwarves and half-dragons. Over the centuries, members of various races have fallen in love and had offspring, marauding orcs have spawned half-orc children, and wizards have dabbled in their crossbreeding experiments. It is somewhat surprising that there aren't more half-breeds present in campaigns.

In that vein, here are several crossbreeds, many of which are available as PC races. Not all worlds will have these races, but the travel abilities presented in the SPELLJAMMER and PLANESCAPE settings, any of these could plausibly be encountered anywhere.
