Course Mechanics:

Students are required to compile a dedicated course notebook that includes complete lecture notes and all distributed materials. Lectures may not be recorded electronically. The instructor may review a student's course notebook at any time, without advance notice; at the instructor's discretion, the course notebook may be a factor in determining a student's final course grade.

Examinations and quizzes will be written on the material provided. Coursework, other than scheduled exams or quizzes, that is submitted for credit must be typewritten and formatted as will be specified, with any multiple pages stapled; otherwise, work will not be accepted, nor credit given, nor extra time allowed. Assigned homework is due at the beginning of the next class period and will not be accepted thereafter, nor will credit be given. There are no regular make up dates for any graded work.

Students should come to class prepared to engage in class discussion. In advance of class meetings, students should complete readings and homework, and review and correct lecture notes as is needed. Students are expected to attend class regularly; missed classes will have a negative impact on the final grade in the course. If class is missed, for whatever reason, the responsibility falls to the student to obtain all missed material and information from colleagues in the class. Study groups are invaluable.

Students must regularly monitor their WKU email account(s) for messages from the instructor.
